Frankstar Launches Advanced Tide and Wave Gauge Series for Coastal and Offshore Monitoring

Frankstar Technology Group PTE. LTD announces the release of its new Tide and Wave Gauge Series, a high-precision ocean monitoring solution designed for accurate tidal level and wave measurement in coastal, offshore, and buoy-based applications.

The new series includes both a Pressure Type Tide and Wave Gauge and an advanced RNSS-Based Wave and Tide Sensor, providing flexible solutions for long-term marine observation, coastal engineering, port management, and environmental monitoring projects worldwide.

Pressure Type Tide and Wave Gauge – Compact and Autonomous

The Pressure Type Tide Gauge is an ultra-compact instrument with a 34 mm diameter and 320 g total weight, making it ideal for installation on coastal structures, offshore platforms, harbors, and inland water systems.

Key performance highlights include:

  • Measurement range: up to 20 m or 50 m

  • Pressure accuracy: ±0.05% FS

  • Temperature accuracy: ±0.01°C

  • Burst sampling: 512–4096 samples

  • Long-term autonomous operation with lithium battery power

Its corrosion-resistant POM housing ensures durability in harsh marine conditions, supporting long-term deployment for wave monitoring and tide observation projects.

RNSS-Based Wave Sensor – GNSS Velocity Measurement Technology

The RNSS Type Tide and Wave Gauge utilizes velocity-based wave sensing combined with advanced onboard algorithms to deliver high-accuracy wave and tide measurements.

Designed for integration into wave buoys, ocean monitoring buoys, and unmanned surface vessels (USVs), the system provides:

  • Wave height range: 0–30 m

  • Wave direction: 0–360°

  • Wave height accuracy: <1%

  • Tide measurement accuracy: ±0.1 m

  • Global positioning and time synchronization

Supporting RS232 (RS485 optional) and NMEA-0183 protocol, the RNSS model enables easy integration into existing marine monitoring systems.
